Aloha!
A new round of gripping fresh tracks with a juju-esque filter is falling like leaves, straight into your headphones.
If you haven’t caught my recommendations here in 2025, you can pick up the thread via Spotify here.
And now, for the late summer’s repeat-friendly tracks;
Farhot - MARS (2025)
A catchy homage to East African music with its intricate samples. The track is built around the song Tilman Baa Lagu Socdaa fra 1987 av den somalske supergruppa 4Mars. This is fusion to the core, with a feel of a homemade, analog soundscape where Farhot honors Mogadishu’s golden days with his own Berlin-inspired underground culture.
NOT THE TWOS - PARADISE (2022)
Hope you find peace and harmony in paradise with this song. Simple and explicit.
David Hasert - The answer (2019)
Housey/Techy vibes plus a vocal sample from Shiloh Dynasty’s “Losing Interest” give this electronic beat an atmosphere that is totally on point. Perfect for when you’ve been studying astrology for hours and need a little break.
Ayrra Star - Your matter (2024)
Moves in the ethereal pop/alt-pop shelf with an emotional impact zone, so this is among the rarities. Otherwise, the track is minimalist and openly, honestly catchy. Fits for late-night introspection.
